Learn MVC 5 with Employee screen project.

What’s the best way to learn any technology, create a project. That’s what we are exactly doing in this two days MVC course.

This course is of 2 days where in we will be creating a simple Employee screen with authentication enabled on the project. To acheive this we will be using MVC 5, JSON, Angular, Web API and Dependency Injection.

Day 1

  4. Showing Existing employees in Grid
  5. Difference between ViewData,ViewBag and Strongly typed Views
  6. Entity Framework
  7. Introducing View Model in Asp.Net MVC
  8. Creating data entry screen for employee and navigation
  9. Model Binder and HTML form fundamentals
  10. Content Result, ViewResult and RedirectToRouteResult
  11. Server side validation
  12. Repopulating input control values
  13. Inserting Employee with EF

Day 2

  1. Custom Server side Validation
  2. Custom Model Binder
  3. Implementing Cancel and Reset button
  4. jQuery Introduction and jQuery Ajax
  5. Authentication
  6. Exception Handling
  7. testing for User rights
  8. Working with Angular in MVC
  9. Introduction to Web API
  10. Angular routing
  11. DI

This project will follow the below architecture. UI will be created in HTML and served through MVC. Angular will act as a binder between server and HTML. Web API will provide JSON data using Entity framework code first approach.

    It is really difficult to complete MVC5, Angular JS and web api in two days.
    But we had learnt most of important topics, which are needed to start working on these technology. Thanks sukesh to making it easy for us to learn in these two days with practical approach. And it cleared my lots of doubts.
    Now it’s our turn to do more practice on it. But overall it was great learning experience. 🙂

    It was nice learning experience. Learning MVC in 2 days is tough task but Sukesh made it possible by focusing on most relevant and important part in mvc considering industry requirement and projects.
